Life : 1783 scans and counting
I'm still scanning all of my old negatives, although I have clearly passed the half-way point. At least I have now taken the time to organize them into stacks by subject matter. Of course when I finish with the scans, I then need to go back and organize them, do some cleanup (some of the negatives were not in as good shape as I would have liked), and finally publish them on the web. It may be another month before thing start to show up here.

That's a LOT of scanning! Talk about persistance...
For several years I've been wanting to get a negative scanner and scan most (if not all) of my negatives. Still haven't done anything about getting a scanner... :-) But I did spend a lot of time over winter scanning photos with the flatbed scanner. Very time-consuming. Good luck with your project!

Yeah - I've had a few abortive attempts before this where I bought a scanner, started the process and gave up because the rate of progress vs. the amount of effort left me in despair of finishing before I went insane with boredom. I'm only making this progress now because with this scanner (a CanoScan 9950F) I can make reasonable progress (about 50 negatives an hour) while only investing 10-15 minutes of my time, letting me do something else for the rest of the hour. That way I can "have a life" and still get all this scanning done.
